VPP is excited to present a fun filled, informative weekend with Robert Jenks and Stephen Stinehour at the Wildflower Inn in St. Johnsbury on Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28.
On Saturday, at 3:30 Bob has arranged for a brief tour at the Trout River Brewery to include tasting of their amazing beer. Everyone can then stay for dinner there and enjoy their incredible pizza. Then later, we will all meet for chatting and laughter that might include some photography as well!
Sunday the workshop will begin at 10:00 featuring Stephen Stinehour. Stephen Stinehour has been in the fine book printing world since 1972 specializing in the reproduction of photographs. In 1999 he founded Stinehour Wemyss Editions, publishing and printing illustrated books, with services offered from design, scanning, digital photography through printing and binding as well as digital photography of art and the printing limited edition pigment ink prints for artists. A graduate of RIT in 1971, Stephen joined the family business, The Stinehour Press in Vermont, in 1975 becoming president in 1985. Stephen will would talk about preparing photographs for publication and his experiences in the printing of photographic books. As well, two associates will accompany him , Fletcher Manley and Elvira Piedra both practicing photographers, who will talk briefly about the taking of images to the final digital reproduction, in books and as pigment ink prints.
After lunch our own Bob Jenks will present to us about how to find "amazing light"!
Tired of dealing with ttl this and ttl that, wireless controls, blaa blaa blaa, ITS TIME TO DITCH YOUR FLASH EQUIPTMENT, and find some real NATURAL LIGHT! On August 28th, 4th generation master photographer craftsman Robert C. Jenks will open your eyes to finding AMAZING LIGHT!!! Its everywhere...if you know how and where to find it, and how to use it. Hot sun at noon, perfect time to find shadows, and use that light. Early morning, late at night, rainy day`s it's still there! Bob will start out with a short image show , showing finished images, then the locations where he shot these, and how natural light was acquired. Then we will wander the beautiful Wildflower Inn, to find light and shoot with no flash. So much fun just having your camera and tripod, (yup bring a tripod, you will find many reasons why). We are working on a few models so after Bob demonstrates to us, you will be able to venture out on your own and try them! After which, we will get together and view and critique what you have shot! A Fantastic way to change your DOYFP! (depending on your flash problem!)
